The Return of Economic Planning

Registration is now open for The Return of Economic Planning, a conference co-hosted by the think tank Economic and Social Research Aotearoa and Organise Aotearoa, a new organisation organising against capitalism and its symptoms in Aotearoa/New Zealand. more

The conference will run from 21–23 February 2018 in Auckland and will feature presenters from around the world, including Aotearoa, Australia, Argentina, the UK, and the USA. Highlights include the Endnotes collective (, George Ciccariello-Maher, author of Building the Commune and Decolonizing Dialectics, and Stefano Harney, co-author of The Undercommons: Fugitive Stuy and Black Planning.

As it will be the middle of summer, we will be hosting the event at a location near Point Chevalier beach in Auckland. The conference will be catered, with social events in the evenings.

As the event is being co-hosted by a low resourced independent think tank and a fledgling new political organisation we are asking for registrations to cover the costs of the conference. Registration is $30 unwaged, $75 waged, and $300 for those with institutional support.
