Amanda Thomas

Amanda Thomas is a lecturer in Environmental Studies at Te Herenga Waka, Victoria University of Wellington. Her research is largely grounded with communities, and examines democracy and the ways that environmental politics interact with social justice. more

Amanda has researched freshwater management and rural community development in North Canterbury, children’s understandings of climate change, community orchards and shared gardens in Wellington, and opposition to oil and gas exploration. Most recently she has worked as part of a team exploring what a decolonised city would look like here.
